Musulyn Myers also known as “Sweetz” or the Liberian diva of MTN Project Fame Season 5 began her
journey into the world of the arts at the tender age of four. She attended classes at the Lundstrum Center for the Performing Arts (Minnesota,USA) where she was privately trained in dance(Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop), acting, modeling, instruments (piano) and voice. At the age of 12, she began recording a project with then group “Shaydid”. A year later the group disbanded and left her as a solo act. She then stepped into the spotlight as “Sa’lyn” and recorded a self-titled album that was never released. In the summer of 2007, Sweetz got together with a group of childhood friends and with the help of a manager established Hood Nerds Youth Inc. “Nerdy Sweetz” along with her fellow nerds, was featured in magazines, performed intricate dance pieces at different venues, and was also involved in community service by teaching dance classes at local schools, the YMCA and hosting safe teen parties. In 2009, at the middle of negotiating a Hood Nerds TV show contract, Nerdy Sweetz was hit with the culture shock of her life. Relocating to her native land (Liberia), a devastated Sweetz did not want to participate in anything but, passion called and she found herself auditioning for UNMIL’s “ A Star Is Born” competition. She was eliminated at the semi- final round but that didn’t discourage her. She started recording at Crash Records until she met Scientific (a Ghana based Liberian rapper). She then performed with him at his show where Liberian Hipco rapper Luckay Buckay spotted the duo and later recorded her first featured track” Rockin With The Best (Yes Na)” (produced by Cypha D King) to be played on recognized by Liberian DJ’s. She then started working with Cypha D’King and dropped the “nerdy” and become “Sweetz” The First Lady of Bluelinks Records. After making hermark at MTN Project Fame Season 5 as the last and only non-Nigerian standing at the finale, Musulyn aka Sweetz has recently released an online single titled “First Lady” and is set to release her official single “Rock It Here” this month while also working on her debut album titled “Candyland”.
